Rope team work with 40 tons

“Made in Switzerland” and electrical as well as optical connection technology of the highest quality; this is what Huber+Suhner AG is known for – worldwide. In summer 2021, a new planetary strander machine was brought into the plant in Pfäffikon ZH to further expand this quality standard.

To comply with tight project deadline, all parts of the new machine go first delivered to our heavy goods warehouse in Elgg to avoid the risk of project postponements by potential transport delays from Italy.

Have a look at the video to see the complex insertion process of the 10-metre long and almost 40-tonne machine under very tight space conditions.

After final moving this heavy object to the installation site within the building, it had to be set on the ground and anchored on the prepared foundation with a tolerance of only a few millimeters according to the customer’s defined layout.

The other components were also delivered from our heavy goods warehouse to the production plant, brought in and installed – all in all, we drilled and installed almost 100 small anchors from M8 to M27.
